Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is “pretty confident” that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sign a new deal with the Premier League side.
Speculation has been going on for some time whether or not last seasons FA Cup winner would commit his future to the Gunners, but it looks like the 31-year-old will remain with the club.

At the start of the month, it was reported that the Gabonese forward would commit his future to Arsenal. This was positive news for Gunners’ fans who are desperate to see the 31-year-old stay at the club.
Then, just over one week ago, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the club were in discussions with Aubameyang over a new deal.
And now, it appears that Arsenal fans will get their wish and see their star striker remain at the Emirates ahead of what will be Mikel Arteta’s first full season at the club.
What Arteta Said
As reported by Romano, Arteta said: “I’m pretty confident we’re going to find an agreement to extend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract soon.”
It is the first time that Arteta has publically given such reassurance about the striker committing his future to the club.
Aubameyang – A Prolific Striker
The 2018/19 joint golden boot winner has been prolific since his arrival in North London back in January 2018. He scored ten goals from 14 appearances following his arrival, before finding the net 31 times from 51 appearances in all competitions in his first full season.
Last season, the forward scored 29 times in all competitions as the Gunners ended their campaign with a record 14th FA Cup triumph, but ended the season in eighth.
Aubamayeng and his teammates will be looking to push further up the table this season alongside with having a successful European campaign.
