Alongside Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, Manchester United and Liverpool are patiently waiting for a chance to sign Bournemouth’s David Brooks, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old was key for the Cherries in the 2018/19 season, but spent most of last campaign out with a long-term injury. Having now returned, he could potentially see a huge move for his career, with top clubs eyeing him up.
Multiple Premier League Sides Considering Move For Bournemouth’s David Brooks
Star Player Sales at Bournemouth
Bournemouth have sold many star players in recent weeks since their relegation from the Premier League.
Nathan Ake, who had been a vital part of their defence over the past few seasons, left for £41 million in early August, joining Manchester City.
Aaron Ramsdale also got a move back to the top flight this summer. The young goalkeeper was snapped up by Sheffield United for £18.5 million, having broken into the Bournemouth first team last season.
Jason Tindall Gives Stance on Transfers
Ake’s sale was inevitable. Such a high quality player was unlikely to stick around at a Championship side when huge clubs like City were knocking at the door.
However, Ramsdale was not necessarily expected to leave, especially after new manager Jason Tindall insisted that there would be no “fire sale”.
“If the club had said fire sale, losing eight or nine players, I wouldn’t be sitting here now”, he said.
However, the Englishman also conceded that it will be a challenge to keep some players, and if their valuation is met then the offer will be accepted.
“We as a football club have got a value of what we believe for our players and if that value is met then players have got the opportunity to then discuss with whoever they need to discuss with, and then make the decision they feel is right for them,” he admitted.
“But first and foremost, it needs to be right for the football club and once it’s right for the football club then, as you’ve seen in the past, I don’t think it’s a club that will stand in anybody’s way providing that the club’s happy with and it meets the valuation of the player.”
Brooks Could Be Their Third Sale in Quick Succession
Yet another Bournemouth player linked with moves away, David Brooks and Bournemouth may face a tough decision over the next few weeks.
As much as the Cherries will want to keep Brooks as a vital player around the first team, Bournemouth may receive an offer that is too good to refuse.
Similarly, Brooks’ decision may not be as easy as it first seems. Despite the opening of a dream move to one of the largest clubs in the world, he must decide whether that is best for his development. Still young, he would be a star player for Bournemouth in the upcoming season, but a move to a club like United or Liverpool would see his gametime take a serious hit.
