The Whites have signed the 16-year-old for an undisclosed fee from the NIFL Premiership outfit.
He has signed a three-year contract with the Premier League side, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2023.
Allen joins Jack Harrison and Joe Gelhardt as new signings through the doors of Thorp Arch in recent days, with both completing deals yesterday.
Leeds Beat off Fierce Competition to Sign Allen
Leeds beat off interest from the likes of major clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Rangers and Manchester City in order to get Allen’s signature.
The Northern Irish youth international had attracted lots of attention for his performances under the ex-Leeds player David Healy.
He has already experienced first-team football despite only being 16-years-old. Allen made his debut at just 15 years, five months and five days – making him the club’s youngest ever debutant.
In total, he made four appearances for Linfield’s first-team, earning an assist on his record-breaking debut.
The Whites new boy will initially join up with Leeds’ under-18s side before attempting to catch the eye of Marcelo Bielsa.
Allen Can Play in Attack or Midfield for Leeds
The Northern Irishman has earned five caps for his country’s under-17 side, netting once in the process. He has been described as talented on the ball and able to play as an attacking midfielder or up top.
Allen is also a player with a good deal of physicality despite his slight build; he has a fearless approach to attacking opposition defences.
The fact he was so highly sought after suggests he could be a very promising addition for Leeds United.
