Sheffield United are ready to make a move to sign Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
The Blades have headed newly promoted West Bromwich Albion in the race to sign the United States international.
Chris Wilder is hoping to secure a deal within the next 48 hours.

Sheffield United a More Attractive Proposition
West Brom have been working on a deal to sign Robinson for weeks, however, it is suggested that the proposition to join a more established Premier League club will sway the left-back to make the switch to South Yorkshire.
Sheffield United are looking to strengthen as they hope to confirm last season’s promise in the top flight. You wouldn’t blame them for having one eye on European qualification either. Whereas, West Brom will be looking to stay in the Premier League and progress from there.
Failed Move to AC Milan
Robinson failed to secure a move to Italian giants AC Milan in January. A medical at Stefano Pioli’s side returned an irregular heartbeat, something the defender has since had cleared without surgery.
That move would have been worth a lot more money to Wigan Athletic.
Robinson could now be available for £1.5 million, due to a relegation clause in his contract.
A transfer fee that will still be useful to a club recently deducted 12 points and relegated from the Championship.
They appealed the decision, a move which cost them £480,000.
The sale of the American left-back will help administrators sort out the finances and make it easier to attract a buyer for the football club.
Career So Far
The former Everton left-back, 23, failed to make a senior appearance during his time at Goodison Park.
He spent the latter years of his time at the club on loan at Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.
He played 38 times for Wigan in the Championship last season, helping The Latics keep 11 clean sheets. Six of them came in the nine games post-lockdown.
Robinson contributed going forward too, with a goal and an assist.
