Lazio want to sign Manchester City playmaker David Silva, according to reports from The Guardian and Sky Sports Italia.
The 34-year-old midfielder is currently available as a free agent. However, the former Spain international will still play for City in the upcoming Champions League fixtures.

Lazio Offer for Silva
Despite negotiations proving difficult between the two parties, as Sky Sports Italia reported, Silva and Lazio are nearing the completion of a deal.
According to the Guardian, the Serie A club offered him £50,000 a week. However, the Spanish midfielder wants closer to £100,000 a week, which slowed the negotiations.
Silva’s New Challenge
Silva announced last summer that he would leave the Etihad when his contract expired.
He spent ten years in Manchester and played over 400 games for the club. Silva played his final Premier League game for the club last month as City beat Norwich 5-0 at the Etihad.
Speaking about ending his time at City last summer, Silva said in a press conference: “This is the last one. Ten years for me is enough. It’s the perfect time for me. Initially, City were talking about two [more] years.
“It completes the cycle. It’s a nice round figure. I can never see myself playing against City for another team. So 10 years – that’s it.”
After his final game for City against Norwich City, Silva said to Sky Sports: “I have enjoyed the 10 years here, today was the last game in the Premier League, but now we have to be focused on the Champions League.
“It was emotional, I have been here for 10 years, I love all of the players and staff, we have a good relationship and I am going to miss all of them.
“I couldn’t imagine winning so many titles in the way we did when I first came here. I am a lucky guy; I’ve had a lot of nice moments. I will miss everything, even the weather!”
