Former Manchester United right-back and legend Gary Neville has questioned whether his former club need Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish.
Bruno Fernandes has been a sensation since arriving in Manchester and almost single-handedly secured third place for the Red Devils.
Previously, Darius Vassell, ex-Villa striker, has said to Sky Sports that the 24-year-old has “outgrown” the club. He is one of many pundits saying Grealish should leave Villa, with United seemingly the destination.

Neville believes his old club does not need him. Instead, out wide is where he thinks his boyhood club needs to recruit.
Speaking to the Webby and O’Neill podcast (via the Birmingham Mail), the former right-back said: “People are talking about Grealish, but now with [Bruno] Fernandes in there, do we need another number 10?
“I think the right-hand-side is the biggest area where we need to improve. An out-and-out winger.
“You think about the great Man United sides, [David] Beckham, [Andrei] Kanchelskis… [Cristiano] Ronaldo played out there, Ole Gunnar [Solskjaer] played on the right-hand-side.
“Sancho can play out there and play really well.
“You think Rashford and Greenwood, both British players, you think of Fernandes, he’s young and hungry, Sancho fits that.”
Should Grealish Stay at Villa?
Villa cannot offer Grealish European football, and likely won’t be able to do so for some time. Yet, the club is asking for £80 million, and he is on contract with them until 2023.
They also have ambitious owners who will want their club to climb the Premier League table. Grealish will be a key part of their plans and unlike if the Midlands club had been relegated they don’t need to sell him.
He could benefit and improve his game another season running by having a team built around him. It is no secret that Grealish wants to break into the England squad. His team-mate Tyrone Mings has already done so at Villa, so why can’t he by being their main man?
If Not United, Then Where Would Grealish go?
Arsenal and Tottenham aren’t going to want to pay £80 million. Liverpool currently don’t want to pay more than £20 million for Thiago from Bayern Munich, so are unlikely to match Villa’s fee.
Manchester City are looking at Valencia winger Ferran Torres to replace Leroy Sane, and would be unlikely to splash big on the Villa midfielder when their issues are much more in defence than attack.
That leaves clubs like Everton as perhaps the only place he could go and seeing as they can’t offer European football either, is it really worth the move? The Toffees have previously shown interest in the midfielder, according to Sky Sports.
While this rumour may rumble on, Gary Neville could be right. It’s unlikely that Grealish will actually go anywhere. Much has been made of his ambitions to play for United. It might be true, but he has found himself in the Wilfried Zaha position with a club valuing him more than what others are prepared to pay.
After all, why would United pay £80 million for a back-up player?
