Shrewsbury Town’s recruitment drive for the new season kicked off with the announcement of three new signings. The Shropshire side have announced the signings of Rekiel Pyke, Scott High and Josh Daniels.
Striker Pyke and midfielder High arrive from Huddersfield Town. Pyke arrives on a permanent deal, while High joins on a season-long loan. Attacking player Daniels arrives from Northern Irish side Glenavon.

Rekiel Pyke First to be Confirmed By Shrewsbury
Striker Pyke is an experienced striker having spent plenty of time on loan in the football league. The striker has featured for the likes of Colchester United, Rochdale and Port Vale.
The striker reunites with Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts after the pair worked together at Wrexham. He joins on a free transfer following his release from Huddersfield.
Speaking about Pyke’s acquisition, Ricketts said: “He’s young lad who I’ve worked with before, he’s been out on loan several times which has enabled him to develop. He enjoyed a great spell with me at Wrexham.”
“He’s 6ft 2″, very quick and very strong, I believe he’s got loads of potential.”
“I’m delighted to get him as a permanent signing, we can’t wait to get him in, help him develop and watch him progress. There aren’t many players who are blessed with his pace and strength.”
Scott High Also Arrives From Huddersfield Town
Shrewsbury’s second signing of the day was central midfielder Scott High. The talented midfielder arrives on a season-long loan.
High is a highly thought of in the Terriers’ academy and this will be his first taste of the Football League. He has been a regular in the Huddersfield youth sides and has been a unused substitute for the senior side on a handful of occasions.
Speaking about High, Ricketts said: “He’s a young lad, who Dean Whitehead knows very well from his time there.”
“Scott is an all-round midfielder, who’s full of energy. He’s eager to come out and test himself with his first league loan.”
“He’s got a fantastic attitude and is desperate to get going.”
Josh Daniels Completes Triple Announcement
Talented attacker Josh Daniels completes Shrewsbury’s triple announcement of signings. The attacker has sparkled for Northern Irish Premiership side Glenavon.
Daniels joins for an undisclosed fee and has signed a two-year deal at The Montgomery Waters Stadium. He has the option of a further year should he impress.
Daniels has sparkled for Glenavon scoring 15 goals in 13 matches. He will hope to transfer that form in the English Football League.
Speaking about Daniels’ arrival, Sam Ricketts said: “ Josh is from Northern Ireland, a market which we’re always looking at to try and bring in the best talent.”
“He’s someone who’s stepping up from part-time football but has a brilliant desire and attitude to want to succeed and has done everything he can to get this opportunity and will now do all he can to make it work.
“Josh is a fantastic athlete who’s very skilful. He can go past people with his left and right foot.”
“He’s got a huge amount of potential and ability, so I’m really looking forward to working with him and easing him into full-time football.”
