Morecambe Sign Defender Nathaniel Knight-Percival
Knight-Percival Arrives From Carlisle United
The defender is vastly experienced, having featured for the likes of Bradford City, Peterborough United and Shrewsbury Town. His finest achievements include an Football League trophy win with Peterborough in 2014 and promotion to League One with Shrewsbury in 2015.
He arrives as Morecambe’s third signing in three days following the signings of Stephen Hendrie and Harry Davis. Derek Adams is revamping a Morecambe defence which conceded 60 goals in 37 league games last season.
Knight-Percival brings an experienced head and physical presence to the team. Conceding goals have been a major issue for Morecambe and Derek Adams is desperate to change that ahead of the new season. Bringing in three new defenders is a clear sign of his intentions.
Adams’ squad revamp is likely to continue following their narrow escape from relegation. Experienced heads have arrived at the club and certainly Morecambe will look to push up the table when the new season starts in September.
Knight-Percival Looking Forward to Joining Morecambe
Speaking to the Morecambe website about his move, the defender said: “I’m very happy to get the deal done.
“There’s always a worry when you are out of contract so I’m glad to have got this sorted and looking forward to joining Morecambe.”
Manager Derek Adams added: “Nathaniel is an experienced, natural left sided centre half who has was part of the Bradford side that got to the League One play-offs a few seasons ago.
“He will be a good addition to the squad and another we look forward to working with.”
