Cheltenham Town have completed the signing of midfielder Finn Azaz. Azaz arrives on loan from West Bromwich Albion and is Cheltenham’s second summer signing.
Azaz is a talented midfielder who will be tasting the Football League for the first time when the new season starts in September.
Cheltenham Town Sign Midfielder Finn Azaz
The Midfielder Arrives on Loan From West Brom
Azaz is a product of the West Brom academy. The 19-year-old has been part of the Baggies’ academy for the last ten years and this will be his first taste of experience in the Football League.
He will provide some much-needed competition in the Cheltenham midfield. Azaz arrives as Cheltenham’s second summer signing after Andy Williams joined earlier this week.
Speaking about his move to the Cheltenham website, Azaz said “It has been in the works for a while. It’s something that definitely feels right for me at the moment.
“I’ve been keeping myself fit while I’ve been off during the COVID lockdown so I am raring to go and I’m ready for the challenge.”
Cheltenham Rebuilding After Play-Off Heartache
Azaz’s arrival is Cheltenham’s second recruit in the space of a few days. The Robins are rebuilding their squad following their play-off semi-final collapse to Northampton Town.
Michael Duff continues his philosophy of blending young players into his squad with experienced heads. Andy Williams certainly brings plenty of experience and is a prolific goal scorer at League Two level.
Azaz will be hoping to make a big impression and help Cheltenham compete for promotion once again. He will bring creativity, excellent passing ability and an eye for goal. He is very raw and Michael Duff will look to unlock his potential with West Brom likely to keep a close eye on him.
It has certainly been a good week for Cheltenham as their rebuild begins to take shape.
