According to reports in The Daily Mail, Manchester United have seen their first bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho rejected. The German Club is looking for no less than £109 million for the winger.
However, there are conflicting reports from James Ducker of the Telegraph. He has said that despite reports of a bid being made, United have yet to make a formal bid for the winger and are said to be staying patient over a deal.

The English winger looks like the ideal signing for Manchester United. It’s been a great season for Sancho, and so it isn’t surprising to see some of the world’s biggest clubs, including United, after him.
He contributed to 34 goals in 32 games in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 17 and assisting a further 17. These goals helped Dortmund to a second-placed finish in the Bundesliga. He also got two goals and two assists in the eight Champions League games he featured in. With these stats, it isn’t surprising to see why Dortmund want in excess of £100 million for the England international.
United in the Market for a Winger
It looks even more certain now that Manchester United wants to add to their already impressive front three this summer. Sancho has been the top target for United and look hopeful to land the winger.
However, if the move doesn’t come about, reports in The Athletic suggest United might make a bid for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.
The report suggests that a loan deal could be agreed but a permanent transfer should not be written off.
However, these rumours have been rubbished by Christian Falk on Twitter, who said they were not true.

It is expected to be a slower transfer window this summer due to financial restrictions coming from COVID-19. With Dortmund looking for over £100 million for the English winger, United may just look elsewhere in bringing in another winger.
However, with Manchester United’s qualification for next season’s Champions League now confirmed, the financial benefits that come with that may help in funding the move for Sancho, who may also now be more open to the move due to United’s third-place finish in the Premier League.
