MK Dons have made their second signing of the summer with the addition of Daniel Harvie from Ayr United. The 22-year-old left-back joins Carlton Morris in signing for the club and has joined for an undisclosed fee.

A Left-Back Was Needed
Despite the ever-presence of Dean Lewington in the MK Dons squad, the left-back position has been a problem for some time. Many have tried to displace the ageing club captain, but every time Lewington has won his place and stayed in the team.
Even though he has signed a new one-year deal, at 36 and with the club trying to push up the League One table, this could be the year where Lewington takes more of a back seat. That’s not to say Harvie will push him out of the team immediately – the new signing will have to prove he can take the place – but Harvie is 14 years Lewington’s senior, so will certainly provide more energy down the left flank.
The Dons’ only other back-up in the position before this signing was teenager Matthew Sorinola. The 19-year-old is yet to break through into the team, but could now be given more of a chance in cup matches with the left-back area seemingly sorted.
Daniel Harvie Delighted to Join
Harvie, who started his career at Aberdeen and has appeared 22 times for the Scottish international youth teams, expressed his delight at joining the club.
He told the club website: “It took a while to get done due to the circumstances but I’m over the moon that it’s gone through.
“I heard MK Dons were interested and I spoke to the gaffer, who sold it to me straight away. The club wants to progress and grow, and I want to be a part of that.”
