League One side MK Dons have announced the return of striker Carlton Morris on a season-long loan. The 24-year-old, the club’s first signing of the summer, spent the second half of the 2019/20 season on loan with the club from Norwich City before the season was ended early. In that time, he scored twice in ten appearances but was quickly taken to by fans for his immediate connection with his teammates and his work ethic.

Deal Was in the Pipeline
It was reported last week that a deal between Norwich and MK Dons had been agreed for some time. There’s no doubt that had the season continued to its full conclusion, Morris would have added to his tally and made his spell in Milton Keyes as successful as his ones with Shrewsbury Town and Hamilton Academical, in terms of goals scored.
This will be Morris’ eighth loan spell away from the Canaries and, at 24, it’s likely to be one of his last before he decides to move somewhere permanently. There is no current suggestion that there will be an obligation to buy Morris at the end of this loan, but if he makes a success of it, then the Dons will surely be keen.
What Was Said?
Speaking to the club website, Morris expressed his delight at returning to Stadium MK: “As soon as I heard the club were interested in extending the loan, it was an easy decision to make.
“It was very unfortunate that the season was cut short because since joining January I was having a great time. I got on well with the lads in the dressing and felt a real connection with the fans and the football club in general.
“This is a club really on the up under the gaffer and with the squad that we’ve got. it’s an exciting time to be part of things and we’ll be looking as high as we can next season.”
