A popular figure, James returns to the club from Hartlepool United, where he spent the last two years. He was loaned to Barrow from Forest Green Rovers in 2018 and he scored seven goals in 17 appearances to help keep them in the National League.
James’ addition is helpful for Barrow’s striking options after the club confirmed that last season’s second-top scorer, John Rooney, has joined Stockport County for an undisclosed fee.

Barrow’s second arrival of the evening comes in the form of Mike Jones. The 32-year-old had been at Cumbrian rivals Carlisle for the last four years, making a total of 158 appearances and scoring three goals.
Jones brings vital experience with him to Barrow, having played in all three divisions of the EFL. He played one season in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday before moving onto Crawley Town.

The final addition is Barrow-born midfielder Tom Beadling. Despite being born in the town, he spent his younger years in Australia before moving back to join the academy at Sunderland.
While with the Black Cats, he spent time out on loan at Bury and Dunfermline before joining the latter on a permanent deal in 2018.
Beadling has represented Australia as a youth international and was selected for an Australia U20 camp in 2013.
