Tottenham Hotspur have registered an interest in Leicester City winger Demarai Gray, according to a report in The Times by Gary Jacob. The winger is entering into the final year of his contract and has been at Leicester since 2016. He has been a bit-part player this year for the Foxes and has only started three Premier League games.

Where Would Demarai Gray Play at Tottenham?
It is no surprise to see Tottenham Hotspur registering a reported interest in Demarai Gray. The young winger is supremely talented and would improve every side in the Premier League to some degree.
However, Tottenham already have many talented wingers in the shape of Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn, and Lucas Moura, to name just some of their attacking options. Manager Jose Mourinho already has a hard time juggling all of these players’ game time. It is hard to see him incorporate yet another wide player.
All of these players can provide for Harry Kane and the problem for Spurs is that the club relies too heavily on their talisman. Mourinho’s side do not have an adequate number nine to potentially replace their captain if he is injured or needs a rest.
Gray is unlikely to take the goalscoring burden off of Kane. The young man only has two goals this season.
This type of end product has led to manager Brendan Rodgers demanding more from Gray.
“He’s got wonderful talent. He can dribble, he can do everything. With Demarai, it’s always been about that end product, creating goals and assisting goals on a regular basis, and then working with an intensity to fit in with the structure of the team,” said Rodgers.
Rodgers Wants the Winger to Stay
Despite calling Gray out in the media to improve his end product, Rodgers wants him to stay at the club.
“He’s obviously a player we want to keep,” Rodgers said. “When he’s focused and concentrated, and then plays to that level (of his substitute performance against Watford), you see the impact he has.
“I really enjoy working with him, he’s a good guy, loves his football, and wants to improve.
“It is hard, because everyone wants to play, especially when the team’s been playing well and in form. He hasn’t started as many games as he would want to but he’s always kept a great attitude.”
Since the restart, the winger has been in splendid form. It seems that he has taken Rodgers’s advice on board and he has produced two assists in the last three games.
If he continues this type of form, then the possibilities are endless for Demarai Gray.
