What Was Said?

Speaking to the club website, Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer said: “I hope Mitch can give us some quality in the wide areas in terms of delivering good crosses as well as scoring goals.

“He’s someone who will get up and down the pitch and work hard for the team and give us additional dimension that we need in certain areas.”

Career So Far

Pinnock spent time in the youth academies at both Arsenal and Southend United as a youngster, and it was the latter where he made his professional debut in a 2-0 win against Aldershot Town.

The 25-year-old then spent the majority of his career in non-league, firstly with a loan spell at East Thurrock United and then, having joined Bromley permanently, further loans at Concord Rangers and Tonbridge Angels.

A brief spell at Maidstone United was followed by another loan at Tonbridge plus permanent spells at Dover Athletic and Kingstonian. However, after one goal in eight appearances for the latter, he re-joined Dover and his career kicked off.

In his two years in the second period at Dover, he scored 12 goals in 65 appearances, earning him another chance in the EFL when AFC Wimbledon snapped him up in 2018.

Overall, he made 54 appearances across two seasons in League One with the Dons, scoring six times and becoming an important part of the team with his performances on the left side of midfield.

This move to Kilmarnock presents another challenge for Pinnock and another step up in quality, but it’s one he will no doubt relish.
