Manchester United looked all the part against Bournemouth in their 5-2 win on Saturday, as did the front three. Almost like a conventional Sir Alex Ferguson side, with their retrospective purpose and penetrated flair. That is no real surprise when you have a front three of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at your disposal.
Front Three at Manchester United Are a Terrifying Trio
Brilliant Against Bournemouth
Rashford calmly slotted home a penalty, Greenwood scored a brace and Martial with a scored a fine, curled from distance. On top of another goal for Bruno Fernandes who made it five. A staggering effort in recent times has seen the Red Devil’s score eleven goals in just three games.
United seem to have that attack-minded edge, made up of real courage and a characteristically charged productivity. It is something which United fans have craved for many years. Now may just be the time they can start to see a side gel together capable of distinctively abiding towards a looming title charge.
More Goals Than Liverpool’s Front Three
Let’s not make any mistake, Liverpool have the most influential, coherent forwards that follow an optimised remit. Yet in all competitions, United’s front three have 55 combined goals, while Liverpool have registered a fairly formidable 51.
Martial and Rashford seemed to have come on leaps and bounds from their totalised figures from last season. They have both scored 15 times and have easily surpassed both of their individual league records for goals scored in a season.
A fluid system allows the Reds to play with offensive flexibility, where at times all three like to come infield and show their goal scoring exploits. It seems Martial has found his best position, as the number nine having been an on and off winger/striker for seasons. United fans called for the Frenchman to be given the chance up top as an effective leading attacker. Maybe he is more mature in his positional acuteness, and an articulate corresponding ability to lead on from the front, to then stop finding him out on the wing.
Greenwood is a Tailor-Made Option
Greenwood seems to have found a consistent hot streak, which has made him somewhat undroppable. With a nourishing talent and occupying all the skills, a cultured player would have. The youngster has a massive future ahead of him, just like the other two forwards. His raw pace and mercurial operability simply imply that with a set role on the right, he is quickly announcing himself as a permanent fixture to the United eleven.
Room For New Manchester United Signings?
United already have an attack any team could dream off, yet another few additions could see this squad from going for Champions League places to seeing them fight for titles and silverware once more. There may be a potential void with United and their squad depth, certainly, Daniel James and Odion Ighalo are very much advantageous options to have.
More attacking options and a winger may be of a necessity this summer. It feels like should they keep ahold of Paul Pogba and let him sustain a relationship with Fernandes.
