Montero Was Out of Favour
Montero featured regularly enough for Swansea during their time in the Premier League, but his lack of goal contributions saw his time decrease with each season. He spent the 2017/18 campaign, Swansea’s last in the top flight, on loan at Getafe. However, the Spanish club took the unprecedented step of loaning out their loanee after just 12 appearances for the club, as Montero linked up with Emelec in his home country of Ecuador.
The 30-year-old returned to Swansea for the start of last season, but after just 12 appearances he was loaned to West Bromwich Albion, where he scored once in four games. His last appearances in the second tier came this season when be played 14 times while on loan at Birmingham City.
Baker-Richardson Leaves
After coming through the youth ranks at Coventry City, Baker-Richardson spent the early parts of his career going between various non-league teams in the midlands.
A loan spell at Tamworth while still with the Sky Blues was followed by permanent spells with Romulus, Nuneaton Town and Redditch United. He then signed for Kettering Town at the start of the 2015/16 but had his most successful spell in the next campaign with Leamington.
This prompted Swansea to give him a chance in the Football League, but he could only muster 17 appearances and three goals in his three years in South Wales.
