Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has ruled out a move to bring Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho back to the Etihad Stadium.
Sancho is one of Europe’s most talked-about talents and is sure to be at the forefront of a transfer saga throughout the forthcoming window.

Ruling Out a Return
Guardiola wanted to keep Sancho at Manchester City in 2017. The Citizens even made him a lucrative £30,000-a-week contract offer. However, Sancho made the move to Germany and hasn’t looked back – until now?
Sancho is a different prospect. Then he was a boy. He now faces the prospect of a return to England as one of the most sought after forwards in the game.
He has been involved in an eye-opening 77 goals in his 99 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
But that’s not convincing Guardiola.
“No, no, no. He decided to leave, why should he decide to come back?” he told reporters at his press conference ahead of today’s game against Liverpool.
“When he decided to move to Dortmund it’s not because he is going to decide to come back one year later. It would make no sense.”
Sancho Could Join Manchester Rivals
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke recently revealed the Bundesliga side are willing to move Sancho on, should their valuation be met.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently suggested Sancho would not be making the move to the Premier League champions.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have long been said to be keen to take the former Manchester City academy product.
The more clubs rule themselves out, the greater confidence Manchester United will have in making a deal happen.
City Hold Advantage
Pep Guardiola may not seem bothered about a Sancho return, but City were opposed to allowing him to join a rival Premier League club in 2017.
They are also able to prevent such an occurrence happening in his next move, though they might have to cough up a large sum to do so.
Sancho would not come cheap. Few clubs around the world display the financial power to acquire his signature.
When he left for £8 million, City inserted an option to match any future offers. So they would, in theory, have first refusal should the England international decide to leave.
With Guardiola seemingly not even considering a return, it would suggest Manchester City have no plans to activate their option.
