No More Nike

The Posh were sponsored by Nike for the past nine seasons, but now they will have a brand new kit sponsor.

Commercial Manager Alex Harris praised the previous partnership with Nike, “their support during that time has been fantastic.”

He then hailed the new sponsors Puma.

“This deal is the best in the club’s history when it comes to a kit provider and it will allow us to create a bespoke design for the replica kit, which is something I know supporters have talked about in recent years. We are already working on ideas for the kit launch suitable for the times that we live in and will have more detail shortly.”

Previously, fans have criticised Nike kits for creating stock designs that do not provide the bespoke detailing that Puma aim to provide.

Posh Looking to Bounce Back

The Blues will be feeling rather blue with how League One finished. They were sitting on 59 points, with the best goal difference in the entire league. However, with PPG, they finished seventh place, with all four teams above them in the playoffs sitting on either 59 or 60 points.

This cruel end to the season was heavily criticised by chairman Darragh MacAnthony. But, he nevertheless announced his intention to move up the Football League next season; “We’ve got to get out of this league, we’ve got to get into that Championship.”

Securing a bumper kit deal will help to ease some financial pressures. It may help to keep the club in a better state to hold on to key players such as Ivan Toney.

MacAnthony has already hinted at interest from clubs for Toney’s signature. However, he also told the BBC that he had a target to replace him.
