Inter Milan in Advanced Talks to Sign Achraf Hakimi
Hakimi Open to Inter Move
Hakimi has been a regular at Borussia Dortmund and wants to leave Real Madrid to be a starter. Inter Milan have contacted Real Madrid about a possible move and Hakimi has accepted the opportunity to listen to an offer. Hakimi is Antonio Conte’s first choice in pursuit of a right-back.
Elsewhere, Gianluca Di Marzio adds that a deal is coming close and will cost Inter €40 million.
Conte’s Nerazzurri Making Big Moves
Since the appointment of former Chelsea and Juventus coach Antonio Conte, Inter Milan, aided by former Juventus CEO for sport Giuseppe Marotta, have been building a squad to challenge the Old Lady.
Having taken Alexis Sanchez, Ashley Young and Romelu Lukaku, all from Manchester United, in his first season, among others, Conte is a man with a plan. Inter have definitely improved under his guidance and are looking to progress further.
Yet, this may be the most eye-opening piece of business from them since hiring Conte, if they can pull it off.
One of the Most Promising Talents in Europe
Hakimi, 21, has contributed to 19 goals in his 44 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season. He scored nine of them.
Last season, he played a hand in ten goals in 28 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
It’s important for a full-back to be good going forward in this day and age. Hakimi is proving to be exactly that. He has struck an exceptional link-up with Jadon Sancho, 20 – another one of Europe’s most exciting players.
Dortmund have already signed Thomas Meunier, perhaps admitting they will not be able to acquire Hakimi permanently.
Perfect for Inter
Hakimi should fit right in at Inter where, like at Dortmund, Conte executes a system with three centre-backs. So, Hakimi will slot into a very similar role to that of which he has experienced for the last two years.
Inter have so far started with Antonio Candreva and Victor Moses in the right wing-back role since Italian football returned and Achraf Hakimi would be a major improvement.
