Discussions With Others

Southend remain in discussions with other players regarding their contracts. John White whose missed most of the campaign with injury is one of those in discussion with the club.

He is currently Southend’s longest-serving player. The club are also in discussions with Stephen McLaughlin and Sam Barratt. McLaughlin was arguably their best player in what was a disastrous campaign for the Shrimpers.

The club have taken up the extensions on Timothee Dieng and Elvis Bwomono. Both will remain at the club next season as they look for an instant return to League One.

Defender Joe Shaughnessy triggered a contract extension. However, the player and club remain in discussions. The discussions taking place are in regards to the club releasing the defender from his contract. The club have confirmed those discussions are yet to formally take place.
