Reid Rejected Torquay Offer
The 25-year-old joins Mansfield on a two-year contract after rejecting a new contract from Torquay at the end of this season.
The striker impressed massively in the 2018/19 season after scoring 31 goals in all competitions for the Gulls as they gained promotion into the National League.
Going into this season, the striker beamed with confidence and managed to score 18 goals for Torquay this season.
He is a Proven Goalscorer
Speaking to the club website, manager Graham Coughlan spoke of his delight at getting the deal over the line.
“He is young, fit and gives us great mobility,” Coughlan said.
“He knows where the net is and is a proven goalscorer.
“We have been tracking him for some time and he is a player who the fans will really take to. He is desperate for an opportunity at a higher level.
“He is someone who really fits into our DNA and as soon as we get going again, I’m sure he will be a player who can get our fans on the edge of their seats.”
Mansfield Town Strengthening in the Forward Department
Mansfield look to add fresh faces into their squad as Graham Coughlan released 11 players at the end of the 2019/20 season.
Danny Rose and Andy Cook have been retained with Nicky Maynard yet to sign a new contract for the club.
The addition of Bowery and Reid gives the Stags more flexibility and mixed abilities that these forwards show.
