Winger has had a Solid Season

Bülter joined Die Eisernen at the start of the season on loan from the recently relegated 3. Liga side. The German has scored seven times from 28 Bundesliga games, while also providing four assists from four DFB-Pokal fixtures.

In addition to brace against Dortmund, Bülter scored in the win over SC Freiburg and the defeat at RB Leipzig before scoring twice in the 2-0 win at Werder Bremen. The German then scored in Union’s 3-2 defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen.

Union were given the option the make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season, and the club have taken up the opportunity to do so.

Despite picking up just one point from four games and losing fan favourite Sebastian Polter since the return of the Bundesliga, the permanent acquisition of Bülter is a positive one for Union fans.

What was Said

“The move to Union last summer was exactly the right one,” Bülter told the clubs official website.

“I was given a great reception by the team and immediately felt at home with this special club. For me personally, it’s been an incredible first year in the Bundesliga, in which I was able to gain a lot of new experience and contribute to the good results so far this season.

“In the next few weeks, I will do everything I can to keep up us in the league together with my team-mates so that I can play in the Bundesliga again in the new season.”

Director of Football, Oliver Ruhnert, added: “Marius has impressed this season and exceeded the expectations we had when we signed him. He is a physically strong player who is committed to the team, but also shows his individual quality time and again.

“I’m sure that Marius will continue to play an important role in our team in the future and I’m looking forward to working with him in the future.”
