Juventus have made another offer for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, with three players currently on the table according to Antonio Milone of Tuttosport.
Juventus’ Latest Paul Pogba Offer Includes Three Players
Coronavirus Causing Financial Difficulties
The Coronavirus has caused many difficulties in the way of finance for many around the world, even extending to football. Some of the world’s richest clubs are struggling to fund any summer transfers, and one of the ways they may look to combat this is through player swaps.
Juventus’ latest offer for Paul Pogba reportedly contains three players, with Aaron Ramsey, Miralem Pjanic and Adrien Rabiot all being allowed to leave at the end of the season. The Red Devils may be forced to sell their wantaway midfielder to fund other moves in more pressing areas of the field, but a player swap will not be the way they want to let him leave.
Chasing Pogba for a Long Time
Links between Pogba and former side Juventus arose in 2018 following a difficult second season for the Frenchman. He was struggling under Jose Mourinho, and was interested in a Juventus return, with the feeling becoming mutual later that year.
Pogba left Juventus in 2016 for a then world-record fee of £89 million but has not since lived up to the high expectations that the price set. His impact on the squad in a positive light has been minimal, and his attitude would seem to create a more negative atmosphere in the side.
Following his best season at the club – 2018/19 – with 13 goals and nine assists in the Premier League, Pogba publicly admitted that he wanted to leave Manchester, after years of speculation. While speaking to reporters in Tokyo, he said that it “could be a good time to have a new challenge.” This came after his performances had dropped towards the end of the season, and gave Juventus a major boost in their chase of Pogba. However, Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane were also eyeing a move for him, and would provide stiff competition.
