Dalot Has Been Promising for United

Diogo Dalot is one of the many promising talents currently at United. The Portuguese fullback is brimming with potential and has shown his ability for the first team.

Last season, as well as playing at right-back, he was occasionally deployed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a more attacking role. This was a resounding success; Dalot emerged as a favourite among fans.

Despite the promise and Solskjaer’s willingness to play younger players, Dalot has struggled for game-time this season. He has played just 65 minutes of Premier League football, making only ten appearances in all competitions.

Diogo Dalot is an extremely talented individual who could become one of the best fullbacks in the world. But, he has recently fallen down the pecking order.

New Arrivals Pushing Dalot Down the Pecking Order at United

New arrivals, namely Aaron Wan-Bissaka, have pushed Dalot further from a starting eleven place. And, while Ashley Young swapped Old Trafford for the San Siro in January, Dalot has still not managed to play regularly this campaign.

Despite taking game time away from an emerging star, Wan-Bissaka has been a tremendous signing. The Red Devils were weak in the position for a number of years, and while Dalot could have been a future starter, Wan-Bissaka has been outstanding, with an impeccable defensive game and rapidly improving going forwards.

Multiple Teams Interested

Although Dalot has struggled to establish any run of game time this season, multiple top sides have noticed his talent. Earlier this month, it was reported that Tottenham Hotspur were interested in him; the feeling was apparently mutual with Dalot keen to link up with former manager and fellow countryman Jose Mourinho.

PSG are another team who could sign him in the summer, but Solskjaer is looking for around £35 million for him, making him expensive in these financially uncertain times (Metro).
