Attracting Attention
Timo Werner has been an instrumental part of RB Leipzig’s team for some time.
Joining in the summer of 2016, then 20-year-old Werner made an immediate impact, scoring 21 Bundesliga goals in his opening season. He has been consistently outstanding since then, and this campaign he had already equaled his 2016/17 tally before football’s suspension. This attracted much interest from around Europe, notably in United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
The Merseyside team’s front three have been irreplaceable over the past few years. Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have been brilliant, but Jurgen Klopp may look to strengthen this in the summer, eyeing a big-money move for Werner. With Firmino arguably the weakest of the trio, the Reds may try to sign the German striker in a bid to add even more strength to their already incredible front three.
Manchester United are also in the market for a striker. Anthony Martial is a temporary replacement for Romelu Lukaku, and while he has been very good, he is not a clinical striker, and Werner could provide that. Not skimping on pace either, RB Salzburg’s star may be the Red Devil’s best option when it comes to strikers in the summer.
Bayern Munich would also like to sign him, buying another great, talented German to add to their already skilled ranks.

Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff released in an interview with Sky Sports Germany that Werner has no intentions of leaving in the summer.
“I’m deeply relaxed about Werner,” Mintzlaff started.
“He hasn’t signalled yet that he wants to leave beyond this season, and he doesn’t have to. He has a contract until 2023.”
