Paul Pogba Replacement

Manchester United consider Milinkovic-Savic as a perfect replacement for wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman rejoined the club in 2016 for a then world-record fee of £89 million, having left four years prior at the end of his contract to join Italian giants Juventus.

While a huge impact was expected of him due to an equally large price tag, he has been comparatively poor, especially when considering how well Bruno Fernandes has done, not only individually, but for the team as well.

Pogba has consistently been linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams almost since he arrived, and with him wanting to leave, he may make that happen this summer.

Milinkovic-Savic in Good Form

This season, the Serbian has been excellent for Lazio, as always.

With nine direct goal involvements from central midfield this campaign, Milinkovic-Savic has impressed greatly, attracting United’s interest once again.

While the Red Devils have been linked with his signature for some time, nothing has materialised, but with Pogba potentially on his way out of Old Trafford this summer, they may finally make their move.

Currently rebuilding the squad, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign players who are both young and talented, and while Milinkovic-Savic certainly satisfies the latter category, he is also just 25 years of age and has many years left to show his quality.

Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Message

Lazio recently sent United a warning over making a move for their Serbian playmaker. While the coronavirus has caused many clubs to fall into financial difficulties, the Italian outfit are holding out for their full valuation of Milinkovic-Savic, which is in the region of €100 million.
