Manchester United Handed Major Jadon Sancho Boost With Surprise Liverpool and Chelsea Decisions
Attracting Interest
Jadon Sancho has attracted much interest across Europe from his performances in the Bundesliga this season. He has 14 goals and 15 assists; this is an incredible record for someone of his age, and his displays, in general, have caught the attention of top teams.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are both interested, as they have struggled to replace stars who have recently left. But, they seemingly dropped their interest fairly early on. Meanwhile, Liverpool were also involved in this race, with Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah both considering departures from Anfield.
Chelsea have also displayed enthusiasm to sign the Englishman. Frank Lampard is currently rebuilding the team; he is looking for young players with whom to do this. Having agreed to sign Hakim Ziyech earlier in the season, following their transfer ban being lifted, they were looking to further that by signing Sancho.
Manchester United are the frontrunners in the race; Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to do similarly to Lampard in signing many young players. Among them is Sancho, who seems to be their number one priority in the summer. The Red Devils need a right-winger; with players such as Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard having played there recently. Sancho ticks every box, being young, British, and very talented.
The Major Jadon Sancho Transfer Boost for Manchester United
According to the Athletic’s report, Liverpool and Chelsea are both ‘not inclined to spend that kind of money’; Borussia Dortmund are demanding roughly £120 million for their star winger.
Despite this, United are willing to do whatever it takes to get this deal across the line, with Sancho a huge step in the right direction of competing for the Premier League title.
