Manchester United Enquire About Ferran Torres
Successes so Far
Ferran Torres, who came through the ranks at Valencia, is now lighting up La Liga for the Spanish side.
The 20-year-old is a first-team player in a competitive Valencia squad. He has demonstrated his talent while playing for the Spanish side, attracting much interest.
The likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on making a move for him, with a switch to a side in the same country slightly less daunting and one abroad.
Barcelona are looking for a new winger in the summer. They signed Philippe Coutinho in January 2018 with the hopes that he could continue his great form from the Premier League in La Liga. He could not. Coutinho was disappointing in his season-and-a-half at Barcelona, and they loaned him out to Bayern Munich this season. He may leave permanently in the summer, and the Catalan giants will look to replace him with Torres.
Like their fellow European giants, Real are in the market for a wide attacker. Having never truly found a successor to Cristiano Ronaldo, Torres could be the long-term, world-class replacement they need.
English sides have shown an interest too, with Liverpool very keen on signing the Spaniard. Current stars Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah both could exit Anfield this summer, and a move to Spain is on the cards.
Why Manchester United Want Torres
Manchester United are another of the many teams looking into him, needing a right-winger in the next transfer window.
It has been a problematic position for the Red Devils over the past few seasons. The likes of Andreas Pereira have tried their hand at filling it, but with little success. Although Jadon Sancho is priority number one, Torres would be a very good back-up plan.
