There has been interest shown in Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard from multiple Premier League sides despite his unwillingness to leave, according to Sean Kearns of Metro.
Interest in Jesse Lingard from Multiple Premier League Rivals Despite Reluctancy to Leave
Underwhelming Time at United
A late bloomer, Jesse Lingard made his senior debut on the first game of the season in 2014, starting the match against Swansea City. However, he came off after just 24 minutes.
The Englishman sustained a knee injury, and his next appearance for the Manchester United first-team came over a year later in October of 2015. By the time he had established a place starting sporadically, Lingard was 24 but still seemed to have a lot of potential.
The Englishman never became the world-class player he once seemingly had the potential for and has since become infamous at Old Trafford.
In the middle of the 2017/18 season, Lingard looked to have found his quality, with nine direct goal involvements from a nine-game spell in the Premier League, but this quickly ended, with the midfielder managing just one goal from his next fifteen games in the league.
Another period like this occurred upon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival. Lingard transformed into a midfield maestro for a few games, but then returned to his former, unpopular and underwhelming self.
Personal issues have hampered his past year and a half, but with his footballing quality not having been up to a sufficient standard, the Red Devils are looking to offload him, along with many others who do not fit with Solskjaer’s rebuild.
Everton and Arsenal Interested
Everton and Arsenal would both like to sign Jesse Lingard in the summer, according to the report.
The Englishman recently switched agents, teaming up with Mino Raiola, and suggested that a move elsewhere was on the cards.
Lingard still wants to stay at the Theatre of Dreams, though, but if a good offer came in, the Red Devis would be likely to accept and Lingard may have no choice but to part ways with his boyhood club.
