Manchester United Return Intrigues Legend Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United Legend

Cristiano Ronaldo is, most certainly, a United legend. The Portuguese attacker, who came from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, spent six years at the club before moving on to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

While in Manchester, Ronaldo was not short of silverware. He helped United to a Champions League victory in 2008, over English rivals Chelsea, also winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups, not to mention the Ballon D’or.

Although Ronaldo won much more during his nine years in Madrid, he became the truly world-class player he is today at Old Trafford. He will always hold a place in the hearts of their fans.

Success With Real Madrid and Move to Italy

Despite being a legend for the Red Devils, he also holds that status at Real Madrid. He was the La Liga giants’ star player for much of his time there, scoring 48 goals in just one La Liga season, a truly astounding achievement. With his other goal tallies not far off, it is fair to say that Ronaldo has been one of the best Real Madrid players in their history.

The Portuguese’s form was not slowing towards the end of last decade, and despite his age, Real sold him to Juventus for just under £100 million.

He has still not stopped scoring goals. The 35-year-old has netted 53 times in 75 appearances for the Turin-based side. His age does not seem to be stopping him, and a return to United seems as if it could be on the cards.

Why Cristiano Ronaldo Might Rejoin Manchester United

With the Coronavirus having hit the world of football hard, teams in Italy and Spain have struggled especially. Juventus are in one of the worst-hit areas. With many of their players having contracted the disease, this is going to hurt them financially. Ronaldo earns three times that of anyone else in Serie A, and with Juventus not likely to be able to afford that next year, they may need to sell him. United seem in the best position to snap him up, but PSG could also have a chance.
