Manchester United have offered Angel Gomes a new deal, according to Sean Kearns of Metro.

Manchester United Offer Angel Gomes New Deal

Contract Negotiations Not Going Well

With the Englishman’s contract running out at the end of the season, United have been in negotiations with him for some time. Despite their great attempts to get him to stay, Gomes has declined offers because the offer was not high enough.

Chelsea are among the many clubs monitoring the situation, with a swoop on the cards should he leave the club with when his current deal runs out.

United have stepped up their offer once again, now offering the 19-year-old a big-money deal to stay in Manchester.

United’s Proposed New Deal for Angel Gomes

The Red Devils and Gomes were reportedly struggling to come to an agreement, with United offering £25,000 a week and Gomes looking for more. With similar disparities in wage demands having occurred when the Englishman signed his first professional contract, it looks as if these contract negotiations will not be simple.

Despite that, United are doing their best. The Manchester side have now reportedly offered him a salary in the region of £30,000 per week, a significant boost on their initial offering.

It is unlikely that Manchester United will go higher than this, so Gomes has to decide where he wants his future to lie, and the Red Devils believe it is with them.

Gomes Lacking Game Time this Season

Gomes became the youngest ever player to appear for United in the Premier League era against Crystal Palace in 2017. He was one of the most promising talents in Europe, with skill and talent in abundance, and looked to be a future United star. Despite this, he has played just ten times for the senior side.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer trusting youth, however, a new contract may be what he needs to get back in favour at old Trafford, as seen recently with Tahith Chong.
