Manchester United and Arsenal Interested as Barcelona Consider Antoine Griezmann Sale
A Premier League Move?
Griezmann revealed in an interview over the summer that he almost moved to the Premier League, but was ‘having too much fun in La Liga’ to leave.
He joined Barcelona last summer but could be set for a surprise exit, having been unimpressive for the Catalan giants. Arsenal and Manchester United are among his many admirers in the English top-flight, and a move there could be on the cards after not living up to his previous standards in Barcelona.
Barcelona Could Sell him to Raise Funds with Manchester United and Arsenal Interested
While they may be one of the richest clubs in the world, even Barcelona are suffering due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The financial repercussions of the virus will be huge, and Barcelona may need to do more than they thought in order to fund a move for the return of Neymar.
The Brazilian left Camp Nou for a record fee three years ago. Despite having been good for new club Paris Saint-Germain, he has not reached the same heights as in Spain. The 28-year-old is reportedly desperate for a Barcelona return, and they will try to make it happen this summer.
Arsenal Need a Striker
Star player and joint captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems set to leave London in the summer. He is the Premier League’s second top scorer, and top for ninth place Arsenal by some margin. The Gabonese striker has attracted interest from many clubs, including United and Barca, and looks likely to be on his way out this summer. Offers are reportedly in the region of £50m, and the Gunners will need a replacement, such as Griezmann.
United also Looking for a Goalscorer
Manchester United are also looking for someone to play up top. After the right-wing, the striker is the top priority for the Red Devils, and Griezmann could provide. He has shown that he is capable in the top leagues, and although he has struggled to adjust to life in Barcelona, a move to the Premier League may be just what the Frenchman needs.
