Chelsea Could Be Offered to Swap Jorginho
The Daily Mirror claims Juventus are interested in signing Jorginho and could use Pjanic in a bid to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho’s motivation behind joining the Blues was initially to join Maurizio Sarri, who was his manager whilst at Napoli. Sarri is now in charge at Juve.
If the Brazilian was to move back to Italy, then Pjanic is a ready-made replacement. He’s capable of playing the deep midfielder in a three and potentially higher up the pitch.
The Bosnian midfielder is a superbly intelligent footballer with excellent vision. He very rarely misplaces a pass and he’s capable of spraying balls from a deeper position.
Pjanic has been a crucial player for Juventus since joining from Roma in 2016. However, there have been some question marks over his performances this season. Pjanic will also turn 30 next month. Sarri is reportedly looking to inject more youth into his squad.
Attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech will join Chelsea when the transfer window re-opens. And if the Blues bring in Pjanic then Lampard could have a selection headache on his hands. Ross Barkley and Mason Mount have recently improved their form, and of course, they still have Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N’Golo Kante.
Furthermore, youngster Billy Gilmour has recently burst onto the scene with impressive performances in wins over Liverpool and Everton.
Other Clubs Could Be Interested
The Mirror also claims that plenty of other clubs could try and make a move for Pjanic. Manchester City, Paris St Germain and Barcelona are all reportedly interested.
If City were to sign the Bosnian midfielder, he could try and step into the shoes of club legend David Silva. The 34-year-old will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires this summer.
