Jadon Sancho is one of the most sought after talents in European football. Borussia Dortmund, who have become synonymous with helping players reach their full potential, have nurtured him into the great player that he is today, however now being highly in demand, there are a number of options facing Jadon Sancho.
REPORT: Manchester United Among the Options Facing Jadon Sancho
Borussia Dortmund Could Remain an Option
Jadon Sancho’s departure from Dortmund is not yet certain and he still has the chance to stay there. Should he decide against moving away from Signal Iduna Park, the Englishman could become a club legend there, building a great partnership with fellow BVB rising star Erling Braut Håland and Jude Bellingham, who the German outfit hope to sign in the summer.
Although the Bundesliga is not the most competitive league in Europe, it remains one of the top divisions and has been home to some of the best players in the world. If he stays in Dortmund, he could be part of a new beginning for the Black and Yellows, potentially becoming a footballing superpower. Although this seems unlikely, it is not impossible and might be one of the best options for Sancho in terms of his career.
Jadon Sancho Might Join a Spanish Giant
As always, Real Madrid and Barcelona are in the mix in this big race for Jadon Sancho’s signature. The Spanish giants would allow him to play alongside some of the world’s best, and compete at the highest level. The clubs also have a rich history, something which Dortmund cannot offer, and certainly have the money to pay Sancho’s expected €120m price tag.
The prospect of playing with the likes of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann at Barcelona, and Toni Kroos and Luka Modric at Real Madrid is certainly an exciting one. However, the quality on offer could get in the way of Sancho’s development, with no guarantee of any game time at either club.
If the former Manchester City winger were to move to Spain, it could come off very well for him, but it could equally backfire and see him go down as yet another overhyped wonderkid.
Liverpool Could Provide an Option Facing Jadon Sancho
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side are reportedly interested in the young English talent as well. Although Mohamed Salah currently occupies Sancho’s preferred right-wing position, he could be set for a summer departure, with Barcelona and Real Madrid knocking on the door.
The current runaway leaders of the Premier League also have much history with which they can attract Sancho. And, having been so dominant this campaign, the reds look to have a bright future ahead of them. This could further attract BVB’s star winger, with the opportunity to win many trophies at his new club.
Despite this, Liverpool still have Sadio Mané and Salah occupying their wings comfortably, and no confirmation of either of their departures. Furthermore, Liverpool do not have as much promising youth as some of the other Premier League teams chasing him.
Chelsea are Another Premier League Side Interested in the Englishman
A return to his hometown London is also not off the table. Chelsea could also sign Sancho in the summer, with manager Frank Lampard a fan of young teams. Chelsea seem to have a bright future ahead of them, with Billy Gilmour among the young talents playing for the blues.
While Chelsea are still in the race for Jadon Sancho’s signature, they are not front runners. The London club reportedly has three main issues blocking their way. One is the interest of many other teams who could give a more attractive offer, while the other two revolve around money, with the teenager’s value and wages also a problem.
Manchester United are One of the Leaders in the Race for Sancho’s Signature
Another club closely linked to signing the Bundesliga star, Manchester United will focus on his transfer in the summer. While the Red Devils need a right-winger, they also have much to attract the youngster.
Obviously, United are an historic club, with one of the richest histories in world football. Furthermore, they have an extremely young side, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also no stranger to giving youth a chance. The breakthroughs of Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood show this, and Sancho could add to their already very young side. With a promising future and a successful history, United have a lot to offer Sancho, but there are some downsides to a Manchester-bound move as well.
The Red-Devils have no guarantee of Champions League football next season with a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Premier League’s conclusion. And with that competition holding much importance, it could be make or break in their bid to sign Jadon Sancho.
