Liverpool have announced a new partnership with Iugis innovative food waste solution. The partnership continues Liverpool’s determination to improve their reduction of food waste and sustainability goals. The scheme marks another step in Liverpool’s Red Go Green initiative.

The Reds are determined to help the environment and this partnership with Iugis is another step in the right direction. The partnership turns the wasted food at the football club into water allowing a more sustainable solution to environmental waste. As a result of this new partnership. Iugis have installed several organic food digester machines across Anfield.

Iugis’ machines use microorganisms and oxygen to turn the wasted food into water. Therefore, reducing the need to send waste to landfill and the off-field transport used to take the waste away.

Speaking to the Liverpool website about their new partnership, Iugis Chief Executive Bill Papis said, “We’re excited to form this new partnership in the UK with Liverpool FC.”

“Our goal is to have a dramatic impact on how food waste is managed and working with such a premier global partner in Europe and Australia. This enables us to highlight the innovative technology that is available today to dramatically reduce businesses’ carbon footprints.”

Liverpool’s New Partnership Continues the Club’s Determined to Go Green

The Reds partnership with Iugis continues their determined to go green and improve their environmental sustainability.

The club has taken positive steps to reduce single-use plastic along with an allotment used to serve the clubs’ fans on matchdays at Anfield. The allotment is another positive step in improving environmental sustainability.

Reds’ Managing Director Billy Hogan said, “We’re committed to becoming more environmentally friendly. We have made positive strides towards becoming a truly sustainable club.”
