Nuno Espirito Santo “Relaxed” Despite no Contract Offer from Wolves

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo insists he's relaxed about his future, despite not yet opening contract talks with the hierarchy at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo says he’s relaxed about his future as Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, despite not yet being offered a new deal by the Premier League club.

Nuno Espirito Santo Happy At Wolverhampton Wanderers

“My Obsession”

Speaking ahead of his team’s clash with Leicester City, the Wolves boss spoke about how he only thinks about the Molineux club.

“I have had no proposal. I have one year more, I don’t think about that. We will see but I’m only focused on tomorrow. We have one more year left on the contract and we signed it and are committed to it.

“They (Wolves fans) can be assured every day this is my obsession. Wolves is my obsession, it’s my life. I don’t think about anything else. I’m talking to you but I’m thinking about the game.”

Nuno Espirito Santo Insists His Long Term Future Isn’t up to Him

However, the Wolves’ boss refused to be drawn on his future beyond his current deal. He has 16 months left on his contract. Despite his obvious popularity in the Black Country, Santo insists his long term future is out of his hands.

“I changed my life when we started this three seasons ago – not only me but a lot of people moved and changed their lives to come to Wolverhampton,” he said.

“The players have been with us since day one so this is why I say it’s my life. I’m 100 per cent here and I give everything I have to help my players and help improve the club. I give everything I can.”

Wolverhampton Wanderers Fans Will Hope Negotiations Start Soon

It’s fair to say that the Portuguese boss is a popular man at Molineux. In his first season at the club, he led Wolves to the Championship title, before securing a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last term.

The “Old Gold” are firmly in the hunt for European qualification for next season, whilst they look forward to a Europa League round of 32 clash with Espanyol next week.

In December, the former Porto boss was heavily linked with the vacant Arsenal post. There’s no doubt that bigger clubs all around Europe are taking notice of the excellent job he continues to do at Wolves, and Wanderers supporters would surely love to see him commit his long term future to the club.
