Time to Make the Step Up

It is now time for Bowen to make the step up to the Premier League following consistent performances in the Championship for three seasons.

The 23-year-old became a first-team regular for the Tigers during the 2017/18 season when they returned to the second division following relegation from the Premier League. During his first season as a regular, he scored 15 goals in 44 appearances, as Hull finished 18th in the Championship.

Bowen’s form then continued into the 2018/19 season. His 22 goals helped Hull rise up the table, earning a 13th placed finish.

The highlight for Bowen would have undoubtedly been recording braces against Yorkshire rivals Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday.

The first half of the 2019/20 season was just as impressive for the 23-year-old. He scored 17 goals in 29 games for Grant McCann’s side, including back-to-back braces against Middlesbrough and Preston North End retrospectively.

A Loss For Hull City as They Aim for the Play-Offs

The departure of Bowen from the KCOM Stadium will a major dent in Hull’s push for the play-off places in the Championship.

Despite losing their last three games, Grant McCann’s side are still only eight points off of the play-offs in 13th place.

However, the Tigers were heavily reliant on the goals scored by Bowen, and as a result, their hopes of reaching the play-offs may be over.

How Will Jarrod Bowen Fit in at West Ham?

In a side that is severely under-performing, David Moyes may welcome his new signing to the starting 11 immediately.

Moyes opted for Robert Snodgrass and Manuel Lanzini in the Hammers’ most recent game against Liverpool. However, they struggled to creatively and were limited going forward.

As a result, West Ham will be hoping that Bowen’s goals and creative mindset can help turn around their season, as they look to stay away from the relegation zone.
