League Two strugglers Leyton Orient have signed striker Kazaiah Sterling. The striker arrives on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the rest of the season.
Leyton Orient Sign Striker Kazaiah Sterling
The Deal
Leyton Orient announced via their website they had signed the striker. Sterling arrives on loan for the remainder of the season as Orient look to boost their goal-shy attack.
Sterling is a Tottenham academy product and has spent time out on loan at the likes of Sunderland and Doncaster Rovers most recently. The striker reunites with Ross Embleton and fellow Spurs loanee George Marsh.
Sterling is a pacey, talented striker looking to make his mark in League Two. He struggled for game time at Doncaster and goals were elusive. Embleton knows his abilities and is delighted to have the striker on board.
However, he is struggling with a quad injury so will remain at Tottenham until he is fully recovered. Orient haven’t given a time frame as to how long he will be missing for.
What Was Said
Speaking to the Leyton Orient website about his move, Sterling said: “I’m just excited. I’m grateful for the opportunity. I can’t wait to get playing. Orient were my first club so I’m quite familiar with everything. I’ve got experience at Leyton Orient.”
Manager Ross Embleton added: “There’s a number of things that mean the signing of Kazaiah Sterling is a very, very big one for us. Right now, he is suffering from an injury. Once he returns, we know we have signed a player with incredible potential; he has a really good CV for a lad of his age.
“Kazaiah is a player I know. I signed him here as an 8-year-old. I sold him to Tottenham and worked with him during my time at Spurs.
“I know what qualities he has got. He is Leyton Orient, albeit it was 10 years ago he moved from here, but he is a boy who knows this club well and knows me well.”
