Chris Willock Joins Huddersfield Town on Loan

History Predominantly in England

Chris Willock has a lot of experience in the Premier League. He started out his footballing career in the Premier League 2 with Arsenal U23. With his time at the Gunners not looking particularly promising, he left London, swapping the Emirates for Portuguese side Benfica’s second team. He spent two seasons there before moving to West Bromwich Albion on loan in the summer of 2019. He left the former Premier League side today, with a quick turnaround taking him straight to Huddersfield Town. He featured heavily for West Brom’s second team but never played for the Baggies’ senior team. The 22-year-old is still young and may be able to find first-team game time with Huddersfield.

Quest for First Team Game Time

The Englishman has struggled to get any first-team game time. He has played just 25 minutes of it in his whole career, with this coming in the EFL Cup for Arsenal. A move to West Brom looked promising, however, he did not even play a minute for their senior team. The young winger will try again, this time with Huddersfield, and may finally succeed in his quest for first-team game time.

He will be looking for senior team action, and his speed and good dribbling may help him get a look in at Huddersfield. This is Huddersfield’s second loan signing on a busy deadline day for them, and these may help Town in their relegation fight.
