The Deal

Blackpool announced via their website they had signed the midfielder. Garrity arrives for an undisclosed fee signing an 18-month contract at Bloomfield Road.

The deal also includes the option to extend his deal by a further year. Described as an all-action midfielder, Garrity becomes the latest non-league star to move to a football league club.

He is into double figures for goals for Northern Premier Division side Warrington Town. The 21-year-old takes several steps up the English football pyramid and he is raring to go.

Simon Grayson has been looking to improve Blackpool’s attacking options with their season stalling in recent weeks. The Pools sit in 15th place in League One and find themselves eleven points adrift of the play-off places. Grayson has called for patience as his squad changes continue.

Garrity is an all-action, tenacious midfielder ready to showcase his abilities in the football league. The 21-year-old is another terrific non-league prospect making the step up to the football league.

He is eligible to make his debut against Oxford United tomorrow.

Garrity Buzzing to Sign for Blackpool

Speaking to the Blackpool website about his move, Garrity said “I’m made up and buzzing to be here. I just want to start off, get my foot in the door and get involved with the lads. This is a full-time opportunity to play football now and I need to get my head down, get fitter, stronger and do everything I can to continue improving my game.”

Manager Simon Grayson added “Ben is a player who was flagged up to us several months ago and somebody we have monitored and scouted very closely ever since. He’s scored a good number of goals from midfield and we’re looking forward to him now continuing his development with us. He’s worked hard to reach this point and is determined to make the most of his chance in professional football.”
