Blackpool Sign Defender Teddy Howe
The Deal
Blackpool have announced via their website they had signed the defender. Howe arrives on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
Howe has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further year. He arrives ready to compete in League One and make a positive impression at Blackpool.
Simon Grayson continues to strengthen his squad with Blackpool languishing in mid-table in League One. Howe becomes Blackpool’s eighth recruit and he is ready to show what he can do.
The 21-year-old has been a regular with the Reading development side and even made two appearances against Blackpool in the FA Cup. He did make the breakthrough at Reading making six senior appearances including five this campaign.
Howe could make his debut against Oxford United tomorrow.
What Was Said
Speaking to the Blackpool website about his move, Howe said: “I played against Blackpool twice and I kind of know what they’re about, which is obviously good for me to come here and try and bring my own style into the game. I’m glad to be here and can’t wait to get going.”
Manager Simon Grayson added: “Teddy is a player who impressed us in the two matches we played against Reading. He’s full of enthusiasm, energy and drive and we’re looking forward to working with him. He’s another player who offers different qualities to what we have here already.”
