Permanent Deal

Piatek’s move to Hertha Berlin is set to be on a permanent basis, despite having only joined AC Milan last year.

Milan reportedly rejected Tottenham’s approach for the 24-year-old due to the Premier League side only offering a loan deal.

Tottenham were keen on a short-term deal due to Harry Kane’s predicted return being mid-April. As a result, Jose Mourinho was not keen on a multi-million pound signing.

Looking To Regain Form

The Polish international made the move to the San Siro following a prolific first half of the 2018-19 season for previous club Genoa.

Piatek scored 19 goals in 21 games for Genoa before joining AC Milan last January; following his arrival at the San Siro, he scored 11 goals in 21 games.

However, he is struggled for form so far this season, with just five goals to his name.

Piatek has been rotated with fellow forwards Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic for much of the season. Furthermore, since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he has seen his game time cut even further by manager Stefano Pioli.

Krzysztof Piatek Is A Major Signing For Hertha Berlin

The arrival of Krzysztof Piatek at Hertha Berlin is a major signing for the Bundesliga side.

He will become the club’s record signing, beating the previous record only recently set by the signing of Lucas Tousart from Lyon.

Berlin are currently just 13th in the Bundesliga, having collected 22 points from 19 games.

However, Hertha Berlin boss Jurgen Klinsmann will be hoping that his side can maintain their good run of form. They have won three of their past five games, including a late 2-1 victory away to Wolfsburg in their previous game.
