Fulham have made their third January signing. The Whites have signed defender Terence Kongolo on loan from Huddersfield Town for the rest of the season.
Fulham Sign Terence Kongolo On Loan
The Deal
Fulham announced via their website they had signed the Dutch international. Kongolo arrives on loan for the remainder of the season.
Scott Parker continues to build a squad aiming to catch the top two in the Championship.
Kongolo could make his debut tonight when Fulham welcome Middlesbrough to Craven Cottage.
What Was Said
Speaking to the Fulham website about his move, Kongolo said: “I am really happy with this move. Fulham is a big team pushing for promotion so for me this a perfect move.
“I really want to show my qualities and the next six months are very important. I like the winning mentality here and I want to give everything to help this Club get promoted.”
Chairman Tony Khan added: “Terence Kongolo is a strong addition to our squad, and he’ll add depth to our defence for the remainder of the season.
“He’s an exciting young player with good experience in both the Championship and the Premier League, and he’ll help us in our challenge for promotion! Come on Fulham!”
Kongolo Aiming to Shore Up Fulham’s Leaky Defence
Scott Parker has targeted strengthening Fulham’s fragile defence. They are excellent going forward but have conceded sloppy goals which have cost them games.
Michael Hector and Terence Kongolo have both arrived in January and will both be aiming to shore up their leaky backline. Hector has impressed so far and Kongolo will hope to do the same.
The Dutch defender has shown he is a good defender during his time at Huddersfield but has struggled for form and confidence in the Championship.
Scott Parker will aim to unlock Kongolo’s best form as they hunt down the Championship’s top two.
