The Deal

Madine returns to Bloomfield Road five years since his last spell. Madine has an excellent record in League One which boasts two promotions with Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers.

The striker struggled to make an impact at Cardiff and was ultimately released at the start of the transfer window after a disappointing two years. Madine is aiming to get back to his best and fire Blackpool to the Championship.

Simon Grayson has been seeking more firepower to ease the pressure on top scorer Armand Gnanduillet. Madine is certainly someone who will fit Blackpool’s direct style of play. Liam Feeney is League One’s top assist maker and Madine will relish the chance of latching onto his deliveries.

Madine could make his debut this weekend when Blackpool travel to Sincil Bank to face Lincoln.

What Was Said

When speaking to the Blackpool website about the signing of Gary Madine, chief executive Ben Mansford said: “Owner Simon Sadler has been incredibly supportive in helping to make this deal happen.

“Gary was our number one striking target in this window, so we are absolutely delighted to bring him back to Blackpool. He has a fantastic record at this level and we firmly believe he will help us realise our ambitions as a Club. Welcome back, Gary.”

Madine Looking to Get Back to His Best

The experienced striker has struggled to find his best form since leaving Bolton in 2018. Madine was excellent under Phil Parkinson at Bolton but struggled to take that form to Cardiff.

Madine now has the opportunity to find his best form and fire Blackpool to the Championship. He has a manager in Simon Grayson who will back him and give him the game time he desperately wants.

If they get the best out of Madine, Blackpool could be celebrating in May and Madine could add a fifth promotion to his excellent CV.
