Colchester United Re-Sign Theo Robinson
Guess Who’s Back?
Colchester announced via their website they had re-signed the striker. Robinson initially returned to Southend last week but after talks with his parent club, he has returned to Colchester.
The striker has scored seven goals for Colchester this season including six in the league.
What Was Said
Speaking to the Colchester website after completing his return, Robinson said: “I’m glad it’s all sorted out and I can get on with playing football.
“I was playing plenty of football and I think I was doing ok for the club, and I always knew what I wanted to do when this time came.
“I had to go back though, and nothing is ever guaranteed, so I’m grateful that the deal got done and I’m here now for the rest of the season.”
Colchester manager John McGreal is delighted to have Robinson back. He told the club’s website: “I’m delighted that he’s with us now for the rest of the season.”
“We know what he can do, seven goals in 11 starts proves that, and he’s a really good attacking option for us.
“He’s a different player to the likes of Frank Nouble and Luke Norris, and it’s always advantageous to have different threats in the squad.”
Robinson Aiming to Fire Colchester to Promotion
Robinson has been an excellent addition to the Colchester squad. He is determined to see their season finish with promotion.
The U’s are in a good place, but they draw far too many games. They need to find their killer instinct in the remainder of the season.
Robinson will be hoping he can continue his decent scoring record and push Colchester towards League One.
