Experienced Striker
The 26-year-old has had plenty of experience so far in his career. Stevenage will be Cassidy’s tenth club of his career.
Having begun his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, he made 20 appearances across five years at Molineux; however, he spent much of his time out on loan while with the club.
He had three individual loan spells at Tranmere Rovers, scoring 17 goals in 54 appearances at Prenton Park.
After further loan spells at Notts County and Southend United, he then signed a permanent deal with Oldham Athletic. However, he only lasted one season at Boundary Park.
Since 2016, the Welshman has been plying his trade in non-league, with spells at Guiseley, Hartlepool United, Maidstone United and Maidenhead.
Cassidy leaves Maidenhead after just six months, having scored five goals in 29 appearances.
Signed in Bid for Survival
Cassidy has been added to the Stevenage squad in a bid for survival.
Graham Westley’s side currently sit bottom in League Two, with 18 points from 26 games. However, they have just two wins during that time and have not won since the return of Westley to Broadhall Way.
Furthermore, goals have been hard to come by this season for Stevenage. They have just 15 goals in League Two currently, with Kurtis Guthrie their top scorer with just five goals.
As a result, they will be hoping that Cassidy can help their survival bid by adding much-needed goals.
Manager Graham Westley will be hoping that they can turn their form around by beginning with a win against Oldham Athletic, who currently sit in 20th place.
Stevenage then travel to Cambridge United, before returning to Broadhall Way to face play-off contenders Plymouth Argyle.
