Goalkeeper Reinforcement
Cheltenham boss Michael Duff was struck a blow last week after first-team goalkeeper Scott Flinders broke his leg in their 3-0 win against Oldham Athletic.
As a result, it called for the Robins to act swiftly in search of a replacement, and they have taken the option to sign Evans until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has already been on one loan spell this season, with fellow League Two side Macclesfield Town.
Evans made 23 appearances in the league during his spell with the Silkmen, conceding just 26 goals.
However, now he has earned a move higher up the division, with Cheltenham currently occupying fifth spot in League Two.
Speaking to the Cheltenham Town website, Evans said: “I’m really excited to be here.
“It’s been a hectic couple of days to say the least. The opportunity arose fairly quickly and I had to make tough decisions over the last couple of days and I felt like it was an opportunity I couldn’t really turn down.
“Cheltenham have been playing really well this year and it’s a great club. I know of it from the lads previously going here on loan so it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down and I’m really excited to get going.
“I was really appreciative of Macclesfield giving me the chance to go in and play. As a group of lads in the changing room they couldn’t have been better – week in week out they performed and worked their hardest which they easily couldn’t have which is what made it a tough decision to leave because we were playing well and it was a great group of lads.”
