According to Konstantinos Lianos of the Daily Express, Chelsea are showing a keen interest in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
Chelsea And Tottenham Keen On Crystal Palace Winger Wilfried Zaha
Substantial Interest
The Ivorian is one of Chelsea’s targets for this January transfer window, as Frank Lampard looks to add another winger to his squad.
The Chelsea boss is set to lose one winger in the summer, with Pedro’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
However, the Spaniard could also be joined by Willian in leaving Stamford Bridge, as the Brazilian’s contract also expires in the summer.
As a result, Chelsea are already lining up replacements, with Zaha being on their list of targets.
However, the Blues are not looking to pay the £80 million asking price for the winger. Palace, though, are not backing down from their valuation.
Furthermore, Chelsea are also facing competition from rivals Tottenham, according to Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror.
However, like Chelsea, Tottenham do not want to pay the asking price for the 27-year-old.
Still Looking To Leave Crystal Palace
Wilfried Zaha is still looking to leave Crystal Palace, despite spending much of his career with the club.
He is insistent on testing himself at the highest level, with playing in the Champions League his goal, something the Eagles are unlikely to be able to offer.
Zaha came close to leaving during the summer transfer window. Arsenal were keeping a close interest, before opting to sign Nicolas Pepe.
The Gunners were also joined by Everton in the race for Zaha last summer. However, Palace would not back down from their £80 million valuation.
As a result, the 27-year-old remained at Selhurst Park. However, he has had a poor first half of the season, with just three goals and two assists to his name.
