Struggling League Two side Oldham Athletic have received a double boost today after the return of Gevaro Nepomuceno from a loan spell at Chesterfield and the arrival of Christian N’Guessan on loan from Burnley.
The Latics have struggled for consistency this season and currently sit 20th in League Two having won two and lost three of their last five games. As well, they parted company with Frenchman Laurent Banide earlier in the season, replacing him with former Stevenage boss Dino Maamria.
Double Boost for Oldham Athletic
Gevaro Nepomuceno Returns from Loan
Gevaro Nepomuceno was loaned out to National League side Chesterfield in September. However, with the Spirties, a League One club not so long ago, struggling in the relegation zone of the fifth tier, it seems a good time for the Curacao international to go back to his parent club.
He featured 17 times for Chesterfield, scoring once.
Since joining Oldham in 2017, he has made a total of 85 appearances and scored eight times.
He will be available for selection for this weekend’s trip to Cheltenham Town.
Christian N’Guessan Joins
Earlier today, Oldham also announced the signing of Christian N’Guessan on loan from Premier League side Burnley.
The 21-year-old midfielder moved to the Clarets from Blackpool, where he spent much of his youth career.
He has become part of the development set-up at Burnley and this is his first loan spell to a side in the Football League.
Oldham head coach Maamria told the club website: “Christian is highly-rated and a complete centre midfielder.
“He’s hardworking with a great attitude, has fantastic technical abilities and is a great addition to the team.
“I’ve been monitoring his progress for a while. He’s been training with us for a couple of weeks now and has settled in really well.”
